The gallery was originally founded in 1981 and is currently co-owned by Todd Masters and Cheryl Pelavin. The gallery’s concentration is the representation of emerging and mid-career artists working in a wide variety of media, including: painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.
Masters & Pelavin stands as one of the contemporary art world’s unique institutions. For thirty years, the gallery has introduced numerous emerging artists whose work has later been exhibited widely in museum and gallery contexts and have been regularly included in international exhibitions.
Todd Masters has worked with several New York galleries, including Adelson Galleries, which specializes in 19th and 20th century American Impressionism as well as contemporary art. Cheryl Pelavin is a master printmaker and has worked hand in hand with artists throughout her career.
